The deadline to apply for the Allan Gray Orbis Foundation Scholarship is fast approaching: Applications close on 13 September 2013. The Scholarship is open current Grade 6’s who will start Grade 8 in 2015.
Following the application cut-off, there will be a rigorous selection process where candidates will be selected based on the following criteria:
· Personal traits: Must demonstrate courage, leadership, vision and self-knowledge. The applicants must also display a track record in excellence, creativity and innovation.
· Academic requirements: Applicants must achieve 70% or higher in Mathematics and English.
· The applicant has to demonstrate financial need and be a South African citizen.
Those who successfully complete this phase will be interviewed and the most deserving candidates will be invited to attend one of the Foundation’s Selection Camps – the final stage of the selection process.
The Foundation aims to promote progress in Southern Africa by developing high-impact responsible entrepreneurs. Their Scholarship programme is one of many avenues through which they identify and nurture future leaders who can make a valuable difference to the societal fabric of Southern Africa.
