SECURITY OFFICER GRADE III 1 POST REF NO: DOHS/101/2013 Directorate: Security Management

Salary: R81 312 per annum
Centre: Pretoria
Requirements: Applicants must be in possession of a Grade 12 certificate or quivalent
qualification. A minimum of Grade C registration with PSIRA. Relevant experience as a security guading officer. Sound Knowledge of MISS, MPSS, Control and Access of Public Premises and Vehicles Act 53 of 1985. Good writing and interpersonal skills. Ability to take initiative and supervise Security Officers. Ability to understand and implement policies, directives and related prescripts in security administration. Be prepared to work irregular hours and night shifts. Shortlisted candidates will be subjected to pre-employment security screening.
Duties : The successful candidates will perform the following functions which will include, but not limited to the following: Perform guarding duties in the premises, patrols and related office security duties. Determine whether visiotors/ service providers have necessary authorization to access departmental premises. Man and operate all security electronic systems, Ensure that all incidents are recorded in the relevant registers and are reported timeously to the relevant structures, Apply necessary emergency procedures and alert emergency services and departmental management.
